Best Budget Gaming Mouse

There is a wide range of gaming mice to choose from and there are many different models for every price range. This does not necessarily mean that a cheap gaming mouse is synonymous with poor quality. Of course, an expensive mouse will have more features, possibilities and usually a longer life span, but it doesn’t have to mean that every gamer needs all the extras. Basically, the best value for money and the criteria that you as a gamer consider important when buying a mouse are the deciding factors.

You can get a cheap and good gaming mouse for about 20 Euros. Depending on what you are looking for in such a mouse, the cost of the purchase can easily climb to three-figure sums. But such mice are then equipped with all the technical refinements you can think of and leave no questions or wishes open when it comes to the gaming experience.

At Gaming Mouse Geek, we strive to help you make final decisions with confidence. To do this, many or all of the products featured here are from our partners. However, this doesn’t influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own.

Local Store or Online?

In principle, it is entirely up to you where you buy your budget gaming mouse. There is a selection of  products on the Internet as well as in large and small electronics stores. There are, however, powerful arguments in favour of shopping online. First of all, there is the far greater selection of mouse models and manufacturers than can be found in a local store. For reasons of space alone, many local retailers will not be able to accommodate all the options in their own shops. Online retailers have it much easier. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you have the whole world of gaming mice in front of you online and can compare the different models with each other in your pyjamas on your home couch.

Not only the huge selection, but also the prices are usually much better online. Due to the high level of competition and the universal availability of all competing products, it is not easy for individual manufacturers to stand out from the crowd and attract the attention of potential customers. The best way to do this is through low prices and a wide range of bargain offers.

It will therefore also be cheaper to purchase a gaming mouse online than in a local shop.

Even if you can look forward to personal advice locally and the experienced salesperson can give you a personal recommendation, there are simply far more ways to find out about the various gaming mice online. This is made possible, for example, by the many customer reviews and test reports that can basically be found online for every product. In this way you can get a good picture of how the respective mice perform in practice and which of them also deliver what the manufacturer promises.

Quality of a budget mouse

Naturally, you should also dedicate some time to your gaming mouse every now and then to keep it clean and maintain it. This applies for all types of gaming mice. Even if the construction of a gaming mouse does not allow dust to accumulate inside, cleaning is still advisable at regular intervals. It’s best to wipe your gaming mouse with a microfibre cloth to prevent scratching the surface and leaving a lint. For stubborn dirt you can also moisten the cloth, but you should make sure that no moisture gets near the mouse.

And what about storage?

Make sure that the mouse is not exposed to harmful environmental influences. Direct sunlight is not good for electronic equipment, nor is extreme heat or cold. Also, make sure the mouse isn’t somewhere where it could easily fall from a great height.
