Pros
  • Great sensor
  • Numerous functions
  • 11 directly programmable keys
  • Wireless version with reduced weight
  • Mouse wheel with option without grid

The G502 Hero from Logitech is the successor to the Proteus Core. The G502 Hero offers a better sensor. The tracking is excellent. The mouse offers a total of eleven programmable buttons, making it suitable for many applications.

The G 502 Hero is available in both a wired and a wireless version, which uses Lightspeed technology. As a result, you shouldn’t be behind a wired one in terms of latency.

We quickly got used to the additional keys, which at first glance seemed unusual, and even learned to appreciate them over time. We found it cool that the mouse wheel can be operated via a switch even without a grid.

Caution is advised when it comes to ergonomics. With the Palm Grip and a relatively small hand, we had the problem of naturally reaching the sniper button with the thumb. Another tester in the editorial office, on the other hand, has very large hands and again found them too small. Hence the recommendation: Test in the market or order online, in order to make use of the right of return if necessary.

What the users say: The mouse is rated 4.4 stars at Amazon. The buyers praise the precision and the possibility of being able to save different assignment profiles for the keys. However, some users criticise the mediocre workmanship. Moreover, the mouse does not fit well in every hand, depending on the grip.

Tip for a suitable keyboard: The wireless mechanical keyboard G613 from Logitech offers everything a gamer needs. This includes a pleasant pressure point and a long durability. However, some users complain about the key volume.

The keyboard can be connected via USB, Bluetooth or Lightspeed. Logitech’s Lightspeed technology is designed to ensure that data is transferred from the keyboard to the PC in a few moments without delay. The keyboard can also connect to an Android smartphone via Bluetooth.
